Dr. Ryan Borden Assumes Role as Principal of West Kingston Elementary School
The South Kingstown School District has recently concluded an extensive search for the new principal at West Kingston Elementary School, and they have named Dr. Ryan Borden to fill the esteemed position. The search process involved rigorous interviews with teachers, parents, and school administration to ensure that the right candidate was selected to lead the school into the future.
Dr. Borden brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His journey within the South Kingstown School District began in 2013, when he joined as a special education teacher at Curtis Corner Middle School. Over the years, he proved his dedication and leadership capabilities, eventually being appointed as Assistant Principal at Broad Rock Middle School in 2019.
Excited about his new appointment, Dr. Borden expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with the families and teachers of West Kingston in the coming weeks. As he starts his tenure, he aims to prioritize meeting with teachers and support staff to understand their needs and determine how he can best support their valuable work. Community building is also a focal point for Dr. Borden, and he eagerly anticipates connecting with families and students to foster a strong and inclusive school community.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Borden takes immense pride in being a devoted husband and father of two daughters. He resides in Coventry with his family and their beloved dog, Oscar. Dr. Borden's impressive academic journey includes earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education, as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership from Rhode Island College. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate and obtained a Doctorate of Education from Johnson & Wales University. Furthermore, Dr. Borden has enhanced his expertise with a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University.
With his extensive background in education and leadership, along with his genuine passion for making a positive impact on students' lives, Dr. Ryan Borden is set to embark on an exciting new chapter as the Principal of West Kingston Elementary School.
