SK Special Education Local Advisory Committee (SELAC)
What is SELAC? SELAC provides direct input to school district leaders about policies, programs, practices, and services that have an impact on students with disabilities and their families. The SELAC addresses a variety of topics related to special education through resources on the webpage and organizing educational events.
The purpose is to advise, advocate, and offer guidance, not to decide policy. Members include parents with school-age children with disabilities, community members, teachers, and other professionals. New members are always welcome to attend any meeting.
Who should get involved? Families of children with disabilities, educators, advocates, and community members interested in Special Education.
Why get involved? To work together with district leaders through open communication and trust to provide input into special education programs, supports, and services in SK. To meet with other parents in a supportive group environment that can provide information on services within the district and community. Your input is greatly valued. Help make SK Special Education the best that it can be!
