PTO - Parents, Teachers Organization

Wakefield Elementary School's Parent Teacher Organization consists of a dedicated group of parents and school personnel working together to enhance the quality of the day-to-day educational experience of our students. Through a variety of creative fundraisers the PTO is able to assist with financing busses for field trips, after school learning programs, a variety of smaller school projects, and an extensive cultural arts program. In addition to helping with funding, the PTO organizes and implements many school community activities, which bring together the families of Wakefield Elementary School. Cultural Arts Programs are presented 3 times a year exposing all of our students to the creative arts, storytelling, music, cultural diversity, scientific problem solving, and personal growth programs.

All parents and school employees are invited and encouraged to participate in the monthly PTO meetings where ideas and strategies are shared. If it is not possible for an individual to attend these meetings, help is always appreciated by volunteering for a particular committee or event. PTO newsletters are sent home each month, with the students, describing upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

There will also be ongoing activities once a month. For these we need; Morning Popcorn Poppers for Popcorn Fridays, Bakers for Teacher Appreciation, as well as Gardeners and Painters for Our Beautification Team. We're even looking for a few people to sew... Who knows, getting involved could unleash your many hidden talents!
