Nonviolence Initiative

Following in the steps of Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. students and staff at Wakefield School will embark on an exciting pilgrimage this September.

Using the knowledge gained from nonviolence training, teachers and staff will begin the school year by teaching all students the ideas and philosophies needed to form the Peaceful Community at Wakefield School.

Students will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the civil rights voting act by marching across the Saugatucket River Bridge on Tuesday, March 15, 2005.  Please join us to remember this historic day!
