LET’S BE KIND…
Zero Tolerance
West Kingston School has a zero tolerance policy for threatening language.  We want all students to feel safe when they come to school.  Phrases such as “I’m going to kill you”, “I’m going to shoot you”, all will result in a consequence.  First time is a call to the parents and ½ day in-school suspension.  Consequences increase in severity if there are additional incidences.
This language between friends can cause great anxiety to someone else who overhears it.
Please talk with your children and help them find positive ways to play and acceptable ways to express frustration.  We teach the children to:
1. Tell the person to stop
2. Move away
3. Tell an adult (TA, Teacher)
4. Tell Mrs. Nettik

SPRING PICTURES…
An order form will be going home in a few days for the spring pictures this year.  Please disregard the one that went home on Monday.  This year, only those students who have ordered pictures will have their pictures taken on March 24th.

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS…
Pennies for Patients continues this week and next.  Last week with your donated coins, the school was able to raise $262.16 for children struggling with cancer.  It is amazing how quickly spare change from each child can add up.  What a wonderful way for our children to see what they can do to help another child.  Please continue to send in your change (if possible, have your kids help in counting the change and put it in a baggie with the amount on it).  Our goal this week is to try to double our collection of last week!  Every penny counts towards a wonderful cause.  Thanks so much for all of your support!

Ladies Choice Dance
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped make Ladies Choice Dance a HUGE success!  For the first time event, there was a great turnout.  It was a great night had by West Kingston girls and their adults.  Everything turned out great from the DJ, photographer and even the Disco Ball!  This is an event we will definitely repeat in the years ahead and hope even more girls come next year.  Thanks again!
