BEE THERE…
    Help make the difference to the students of South Kingstown by participating in the 4th Annual South Kingstown CARES Spelling BEE.  Form a team, become a sponsor, or just come and watch the fun.  Spellers and spectators will gather at the Elks Lodge in Wakefield Saturday, February 9th.  Pre-BEE Light Fare Bistro will begin at 6 pm.  Spelling teams will begin competing at 7 pm.  Join us for this fun event of spelling and surprises!  Call South Kingstown CARES for more details @ 360-1304.
     Please consider being part of a WK Spelling Team.  Let me know if you are willing; they tell me it’s lots of fun.  Nancy Nettik

MUSIC NEWS…
    This Friday, January 18th at 1:00 pm the Kingston Chamber Festival will present an outreach concert to 3rd grade students and Orchestra members.  Burchard Tang, a member of the Philadelphia Symphony and his wife, Priscilla Lee, will perform on viola and cello for 3rd grade students and Orchestra members.
    The BAND, CHORUS and 5th grade ORCHESTRA will perform for students and staff next Wednesday, January 23 at 9:50 am.  The BAND and CHORUS will present an evening concert on Thursday, January 24 at 7:00 pm.  BAND and CHORUS members should plan to wear WHITE (shirt/blouse) and BLACK (pants/skirt) at these performances.  BAND members should plan to arrive at 6:45 pm to tune instruments.

PTO Meeting
Please come and join us on Wednesday, January 16th at 7 pm in the library for our next meeting.  We need support from you, as parents, to help plan the events that will help to make this school memorable to your child.

Box Tops
Please continue to send in your Box Tops for Education.  Every little bit helps!!

PBIS…
    The following students were recognized for following the West Kingston Hawk’s Expectations. Congratulations to:  Jahn P., Logan D., Shylah J., Tim S., Fiona G., Anthony M., Emilia C., Tyanna W., Delia N., Madison P., Connor L., Katelyn L., Sean R., Matthew M., Nicole T., Jaden V., Sarah L., Lexie S., and Emma L.  Thank you for helping WK School be a respectful school.
    On Fridays we pull 5 names from all of those students who were recognized for the week and they are then able to pick a prize from our prize box.  They were:  Fiona G., Connor L., Katelyn L., Tim S., and Jahn P.
