REPORT NIGHT…
Report Night & Curriculum Sharing
March 27, 6-7:00 pm
Make plans now to attend West Kingston School’s Report
Night & Curriculum Sharing on Tuesday, March 27, 6:00-7:00 pm.
On this evening we will present our school NECAP data and
students will become your teachers to help you experience learning as they
do. This is an evening for parents and invited students to become engaged
in Reading, Math, Science, Writing and other subject areas. Unfortunately,
there is not enough room for all students to attend on this evening. Each
teacher will be asking a few students to participate as instructors for this
interesting evening.
We hope you will be able to attend.
NECAP ASSESSMENT RESULTS…
Families will be receiving the NECAP Student Report – Fall 2006
for each child who was in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in October. These
will all come in one family envelope mailed from West Kingston School. The
report will indicate the achievement level of the student in reading
and math and 5th grade students’ writing as well.
Achievement levels are:
4 – Proficient with Distinction
3 – Proficient
2 – Partially Proficient
1 – Substantially Below Proficient
Information is also provided showing how your child’s
achievement level compares to other students in the district and state.
If you have questions about interpreting the scores, please
contact your child’s teacher or me. The NECAP tests were given
in October 2006.

CHARACTER ED…
The following students were the first to receive the “Caring Heart” award: Joseph
S., Nicole M., Payton C. (go Mrs. Colombino’s class!), Stephanie
B., Ryan F., and Mrs. Cowger’s whole class (WOW!). A special
thanks to Mrs. Cowger’s whole class for their super efforts to
work together!
SCHOOL CLASS HOURS…
8:40-3:05
It is very important that all students arrive on time for
school. Students are considered tardy if they are not in their classroom
by 8:45. Students should arrive between 8:30 and 8:40.
Many students are being brought to school after 8:40. This
impacts the learning of the whole class, not only the tardy student.
