South Kingstown Special Education Local Advisory
Committee
Mission Statement
The mission of the South Kingstown Special Education
Local Advisory Committee (SKSELAC) is to advocate
for all children in the town of South Kingstown;
especially those with special needs. It is constituted
by statute to advise the South Kingstown School
Committee on issues pertaining to special education.
A group of parents, professionals and concerned
citizens are dedicated to connecting all families
with individuals and agencies offering information
and support in developing, planning and preparing
for the education process required to meet their
child’s needs.
Membership of the committee is composed
of various individuals who process and gather
information from many different sources to help
advocate for all children with special needs.
When you attend your child’s Individualized
Education Plan (IEP), we will be able to offer
moral support and gather and share information
and viewpoints to insure that your child is getting
the most appropriate educational plan.
Please feel free to call any one
of us with any questions, comments, or concerns
that you may have. We would be delighted to hear
from you! Our children’s success in school
depends upon all of us working together as one.
