Dear South Kingstown Educational Community:
The South Kingstown School Committee has contracted with NESDEC (New England Schools Development Council) to conduct a facilities study of the South Kingstown Schools. The NESDEC organization has been providing enrollment projections and conducting facility audits in New England for over fifty years. Historically, NESDEC has provided the enrollment projections for our community. Enrollment projections provided by NESDEC have been very accurate and are useful in anticipating the number of youngsters predicted to enroll in school, and also to predict how many students will continue with their cohort grade level until graduation.
On November 2, 2009, NESDEC researchers held a community forum in South Kingstown to present their initial findings. To review a copy of the NESDEC Powerpoint presentation, please click on the link provided below.Email addresses for NESDEC staff are listed on the last page of the presentation. Please feel free to email your comments and questions to the NESDEC researchers. They are requesting community feedback as they compile their data into a final report. A final report to the South Kingstown School Committee will be issued in early December.
In addition, please do not hesitate to call me at 360-1307 if there are any questions that I can answer for you.
Regards,
Kristen E. Stringfellow, Ed.D.
