Grade 1
Students will be involved in writing every
day in one or more of the
following ways: Shared Writing, Interactive Writing,
Guided Writing, and Independent Writing.
Teacher modeling of the writing process as
well as the writing
of different genres is an essential
teaching strategy.
Grade 1 students will be
expected to:
á Write daily
á Produce 10 pieces of writing that have been brought
to final form
by the end of the year. Pieces
must
include at
least 1 example from each of the following
types of
writing:
á Narrative
á Informational
á Functional and
á Producing and Responding to
