Reading Standard E1a / Reading Standard 2: Getting the Meaning

The student reads at least twenty-five books or book equivalents each year.

Students will read at least 25 books or book equivalents each year including mandatory summer reading and classroom and independent reading as required. Reading materials should include traditional and contemporary literature (both fiction and non-fiction) as well as magazines, newspapers, textbooks, and on-line materials. Students will produce evidence of this reading.

Reading Standard E1b / Reading Standard 2:

The student reads and comprehends at least four gooks about one issue or subject, or four books by a single writer, or four books in one genre, and produces evidence from this reading.

In Grade 11, students will demonstrate comprehension abilities used in Grade 10
