Finalize decisions regarding post-secondary options

 

Course Objectives: Performance Indicators:
*Understand specifics of post-secondary process
*Share status of post-secondary future plans and become a respectful, healthy, productive and responsible citizen

*Participate in personal assessment utilizing effective communication skills
*Explore financial aid and scholarship opportunities
*Involve families in post-secondary financial planning
*Distribute pertinent senior information through a variety of venues

*Continue to learn about various post-secondary options

*Take advantage of opportunities to develop decision making skills, acquire interpersonal skills and participate responsibly in the school community
*Provide a welcoming environment

The student will:
*Participate in post-secondary planning meeting
*Meet with individual counselors to discuss and review post-secondary plans

*Will be encouraged to complete a personal assessment

*Participate in financial aid assembly
*Encourage parents & students to attend Financial Aid Night
*Families will receive information through the web site, senior bulletin, scholarship bulletin, assorted post-secondary materials and other avenues
*Take advantage of college visits, college representatives and armed forces visits
*Feel comfortable enough to visit the guidance office frequently


*Participate in individual counseling sessions as needed
